Xue Suavet-Jiang

I am a global leadership coach, working with senior business executives, university professors in academic leadership positions, and MBA participants in North America, Europe, and Asia. I integrate Harvard Leadership Theory and Ancient Eastern Philosophy to help leaders grow and expand their meaning-making systems, so that they can lead more effectively in complexity. I was born in China with more than 25 years of academic and professional experience in the USA, Canada, France, Sweden, and Singapore.

The main objective of my coaching is to help leaders develop a higher level of mental complexity, which allows them to better manage polarity and find more options when facing challenges in their personal and professional life. I draw mainly from research-based leadership development frameworks including: Adult Development Theory, Leadership Circle, and Adaptive Leadership. During my postgraduate program at Harvard University, I learned extensively with professor Robert Kegan and Ronald Heifetz about Adult Development Theory and Adaptive Leadership. I helped Kegan teach and develop the Harvard Immunity To Change coaching program for 60000 global learners on edX. Over the last 10 years, I delivered ITC coaching programs at MIT, UC Berkeley, and organizations around the world. I have helped many people experience personal transformation with the ITC method. Another area of my coaching is emotional management. I believe it is important for people to take care of their emotions when dealing with tough leadership challenges. Therefore, I use a holistic approach with frameworks like Mindful Self-Compassion, Positive Intelligence, and Ancient Eastern Philosophy to help leaders reach a state of being where they have more harmony with self, others, and nature.

I have held various management positions in multinational companies, consulting firms, and universities. I have also worked as a researcher at Harvard Business School, and Minds at Work. My industry and academic background allow me to work with leaders in both worlds. I have coached leaders in global companies like Airbnb, LinkedIn, Siemens Energy, Github, 1% for the Planet. And I have also served as a faculty at Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management in France, an MBA coach at UC Berkeley in the US, and a career coach at Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden.

In my free time, I enjoy helping relocated international families transition to a new country. During the last 18 years, I have helped hundreds of international students, scholars and spouses to transition to the US, Canada and Sweden. I designed and taught global transition programs at Harvard, MIT, and UC Berkeley to help foreigners transition to a new culture, build a meaningful life abroad, and take care of their emotional wellbeing.

I have a Master of Education (Adult Development and Leadership) from Harvard University, an MBA from IAE Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management in France, and a Bachelor degree of Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in Canada.

As a wife and a mother of 2 children, I like to make healthy food and walk after dinner with my family. I also love to listen to music, play piano, and write music with my children.
